Dinner with my Airbnb host from Berlin
I got to have dinner with him & his girlfriend Subi last night on Crown St in Surry Hills. We caught up & shared stories. He’s working on his own business on the side, on top of a full time job at a marketing agency back home.
Capturing the Commute
Any regular commute can get boring. As the routine sets in, familiarity can mute beautiful structures & scenes in the world. I've been making an effort to look up from my bike more & see the otherwise mundane sights on my commute to & from work as something special & awesome.
Viv & Frank's last camping trip in Australia
We spent Viv & Frank's final few days camping at Murphy's Glen in the Blue Mountains. Viv took us outdoor rock climbing (our first time ever), slept in our cosy tents & ate campfire foodies. We'll miss them both!
Engagement Photos for Viv & Frank
I had the pleasure of taking some photos of Viv & Frank being all couply & in love in some of their most-enjoyed places in Sydney. I struggle to direct people in photos-- and in this case, I had to rely on Viv & Frank to direct themselves. They were afraid that they would look too fake. I don't think the photos captured anything but two people in love.
A Look at a Week
I first met Tram at UTS, while I was still studying. She was studying Civil Engineering, and while we weren’t doing the same course, our mutual friends introduced us. Our love of Seinfeld, The Simpsons & The Office (US) brought us together.
Bathing Boxes, Twinning & Art
As if I didn’t need more sun exposure from yesterday, we spent more time under the sun at Brighton Beach to see the Instagram-famous Bathing Boxes. Privately owned structures along the beach, we saw these colourful boxes used as storage for chairs, towels & “beach stuff”, and opened up as a shady space to relax.
A Pierfect First Day in Melbourne
It was our first day in Melbourne! But I’ve learned that Nika can’t do morning flights to.. anywhere. She was passed out on the flight over & slumped over on the SkyBus to Southern Cross Station. Next time, we’ll fly in the evening 😂
An Hour-by-Hour Look at 13 Hours on the Road to Perth
We spent most of the day on the road, travelling ~1,200 km south to Perth. The directions told us it would take 13 hours to get back. Factoring in time for breaks & refuelling, it took us closer to just under 13 hours. We must’ve.. ahem.. taken liberties with velocities.
Drift Snorkelling at Turquoise Bay
We spent the day snorkelling at Turquoise Bay, a beautiful beach with coral reefs just a stone’s throw away from the shore.
