A Pierfect First Day in Melbourne

It was our first day in Melbourne! But I’ve learned that Nika can’t do morning flights to.. anywhere. She was passed out on the flight over & slumped over on the SkyBus to Southern Cross Station. Next time, we’ll fly in the evening 😂

Our first stop after checking in to our Airbnb was to go to Lune Croissanterie so that Nika can try “the best croissants” ever. But when I checked Google for walking directions, it said closing soon & that’s when I noticed it closed at 12 noon. So with our itinerary already out of whack, we endeavoured to tick off the rest of the stops on our list.

A tiny door on Presgrave Place. It’s just.. adorably small. Although some things just shouldn’t be described as adorably small

Funnily enough, Instagram is owned by Facebook. Is it really a fight against each other, or a fight for your attention?

We spent the afternoon at Princes Pier. Nika had seen pictures on Instagram of this place, so we headed there to see it for ourselves. There’s not much to do there, but if you’re a photographer— it’s definitely a good photo challenge to tackle at the golden hour.

While we were taking photos, a lady sitting next to us asked if we could take a photo for her. Afterwards, we got to talking about what we do for work, the difficulties in making friends in different cities across the world, and jobs we’d be doing if we weren’t doing what we did now. Her name is Kayrelli & while I forgot to take a selfie with her, she definitely made our afternoon at Princes Pier a memorable moment. Nika & I also got sunburnt while we sat around chatting. FFS!

I learned today that our dog, Charlie, just had an operation to have a tumour removed from his leg. Very sad. Here he is at home being all sad 😭

It’s Brendan’s birthday today! Nika & I joined him for dinner at Do Dee Paidang - Melbourne. We committed to setting goals for ourselves & we’re gonna check in on each other to see how we’re going. From losing weight to learning a new language.. although eating too much probably didn’t help any of our goals.
